An Anti Ragging Committee is set up in college to oversee overall anti ragging initiatives of the institution and also meet the compliance of the affiliating Osmania University.

The Institution celebrates Anti Ragging Day on 21st August every year and seeks a pledge from the students to make the Institution a RAGGING FREE ZONE. It also organizes seminars/debates and poster competitions to sensitize the students.

Mentoring and Counseling Cell:

The college has constituted a Mentoring and Counseling Cell. It plans a program of activities in order to promote the objectives of the Regulations for curbing ragging and also to instill confidence among freshers and students to ensure the practice of human values, rights and dignity.

Grievance Redressal Committee

Villa Marie Degree College for Women provides proper mechanism to students for redress of their grievances. This committee will deal with all the Grievances directly which is related to the common problems at Institute level both Academic and Administrative.

  • To recognize the availability of members for students and faculty to report grievances.
  • To investigate the cause of grievances.
  • To formulate the policy to scrutinize and review complaints or grievances of students and faculties.
  • To ensure effectual solution depending upon the gravity of the situation ensuring complete confidentiality.
  • The cases are attended promptly on receipt of written grievances from the students.
  • The Committee formally meets to review all cases, prepares a statistical report about the number of cases received, attended to and the number of pending cases, if any, which require direction and guidance from the higher authorities.
Counseling Committee

Counseling is a process that aims to facilitate personal well-being of the students through support and guidance of trained counselors, for a healthy mind and body. With the intent to address and help resolve emotional and psychological issues of the student community of Villa Marie Degree College for Women, the college has initiated the “Counseling Cell” in the college premises with the help of a trained team of faculty members as Counselors.

  • To help students develop their potentialities through a greater self-understanding to enable them to take full advantage of the environmental resources.
  • To identify the problem areas or difficulties of individuals, their potentialities and limitations.
  • To formulate the policy to scrutinize and review complaints or grievances of students and faculties.

Examinations Committee

Examination Branch in Villa Marie Degree College is an important committee, committed towards planning and execution of examinations.

  • Ensuring evaluation of student’s assessment at regular intervals.
  • To ensure smooth conduct of the examination.
  • Acts as a liaison between the college and the Examination branch of the University
  • Conducting examination meetings with the faculty
  • Notifying and drafting of time tables for internal assessments and Semester end University examinations

Newsletter & Annual Magazine Committee:

The faculty and student representatives constitute the magazine and the news letter committee. The Committee meets periodically to discuss and select the articles for publication.

Our annual college magazine, aims to inform, inspire, entertain and create awareness on a number of current social issues to a diverse readership.

The Committee has a great educative value. It encourages students to think and write and hence develops their writing skills and talent. They are written and edited by the students in the mentorship of faculty.

For the management of the magazine, an Editorial Board is formed comprising of teachers and students. The students send their articles to the editor or any member of the editorial board. Then a selection is made and the best articles are published in the magazine with necessary addition and changes. Besides contributions from students, the committee records the achievements of students and congratulates them for their hard work. It also contains information on the activities of the college.


National Service Scheme provides the students an opportunity to understand the community; identify its needs and problems as well as the solutions in which they can be involved by assuming social and civic responsibilities. NSS also provides students with the opportunity to apply their education in finding practical solutions to the problems faced by the individuals and the community at large. NSS aims at arousing social consciousness of the youth with an overall objective of personality development through community service. NSS enables students to participate in various programs of social service and national development, and to help the community.

The aim behind the program of NSS is to provide help to everyone who needs it, to enhance and bring a better change in the standard of living and the way they lead their life with dignity.

National Service Scheme (NSS) is beneficial to both students as well as the society in various different means. NSS helps the student to grow individually and also as a group. It makes the students confident, develop leadership skills, and gain knowledge about different people from different walks of life. Students also learn other skills that help them lead a better life in various situations.

The motto or watchword of the National Service Scheme is “NOT ME BUT YOU”. The NSS symbol is based on the “Rath” wheel of the Konark Sun Temple situated in Odisha. The navy blue color indicates the cosmos of which the NSS is a tiny part, ready to contribute its share for the welfare of the mankind. The Red color in the badge indicates that the NSS volunteers are full of blood i.e. lively, active, energetic and full of high spirit. The giant wheels of the Sun Temple portray the cycle of creation, preservation and release, and signify the movement in life across time and space.


NSS is a voluntary scheme. The NSS volunteers will be enrolled from the first and second year and final degree-class students. An NSS volunteer needs to devote a total of 240 hours social service in two years duration. Every year, a NSS volunteer has to devote 20 hrs of orientation and 100 hrs of community service. To enroll as NSS volunteer, contact the NSS Program Officer of college. Enrollment in NSS is free. The NSS volunteers on successful completion of the required hours of service are issued a certificate.


An institution will be allotted NSS units according to the strength of students. The number of units will be allotted by the Program Coordinator in consultation with NSS Regional Directorate and State NSS Officer considering the demands of the institution. The strength of a unit will be 100 NSS volunteers normally. A Program Officer will be in charge of a NSS unit. Only those belonging to the teaching faculty will be considered for appointment as Program Officer. Program Officer will be responsible for the organization of NSS unit, implementation of NSS program under the supervision and direction of Principal of the college or head of the institution.

Cultural Committee:

Cultural fests and events give a lot of social benefits, the biggest being social interaction. Students get a chance to develop rapport with people from different walks of life. The committee actively participates in organizing and encourages participation in cultural events .It promotes arduous efforts and stern dedication. It provides a planner in organizing cultural events according to the theme of the event. The cultural committee coordinates with the participants and other logistics. The committee coordinates event planning, budgeting and other network requirements.

Awards & Certificates Committee:

As we bear testimony to our educational success on the quality services we deliver, the committee functions on designing, creating, and presenting the certificates and awards to the students for their achievements in various competitions and accolades.

Sports, Games & Physical Education Committee:

The Sports committee offers physical education and Recreation .It offers opportunities for sports instruction and participation at all levels.

Field Visits & Tours:

The college provides all round development of the students. The committee tries to bridge the gap between theory and practice and thereby organizes field visits, eduventure trips, national & International tours for education and adventure.

Discipline Committee:

The College Discipline Committee is constituted for the maintenance of discipline in the college. The committee will ensure that students obey rules and remain orderly and peaceful in the pursuant of educational objectives/goals in the college community.


To create a safe and motivating environment in our institution and to bring professionalism among students by the inculcation of best practices

  • To maintain and enforce strict discipline within the college campus.
  • All the students should wear their ID Cards while they are in the campus and their respective class rooms.
  • To enforce total prohibition of cell phone usage by the students during class hours
  • To monitor the movement of the students in the college and prevent students loitering around in the corridors during the college working hours.
  • To ensure that all the students attend classes without bunking. Please note that no student can leave the college early without prior permission from the concerned authorities.
  • To ensure that students maintain complete silence in the library.
  • If any indiscipline is found by any of the students, warn them on the first instance. Take disciplinary action based on the rules and regulations of the committee, if the pattern of misconduct continues.
  • To maintain proper discipline in the college canteen and student waiting room during the college working hours.
  • If any damage is caused to the college property by any student / group of students, the cost of the same will be recovered with a fine from the said student / group of this will be followed by disciplinary action.
  • If any indiscipline is found by any of the students, warn them on the first instance. Take disciplinary action based on the rules and regulations of the committee, if the pattern of misconduct continues.
  • To assist the college anti-ragging committee in preventing ragging in the College and to spread anti-ragging campaign throughout the students community.
